Renault Trucks has embraced a circular economy model to ensure sustainable production using reliable return, recycling and repurposing processes. Repurposing prolongs the value of our trucks for as long as possible and takes advantage of our products’ durability by giving them a second or even third life.

Our unique and tailored approach is made possible through the Renault Trucks Used Trucks Factory, where we breathe new life into pre-owned vehicles by reconfiguring them to meet market demands and customers needs. This transformative process converts our dynamic long-haul tractors into various rigid trucks and supply vehicles including X-Road and P-Road models as well as Special Editions of our flagship trucks. Not only does this extend the lifespan of our trucks but equips and adapts them to serve an entirely new purpose for users - allowing customers maximum utility of the vehicles they already know and trust.

The Used Trucks Factory generates between 200 and 600 repurposed trucks each year, making Used Trucks Remanufacturing a core part of our sustainable activities since 2019.

In line with our commitment to sustainability, we’ve chosen to rethink every step of our supply chain, including core activities like truck design and production. Due to the durability of our materials and versatility of Renault Trucks parts, our trucks are 95% recyclable and an impressive 98% of each vehicle can be recovered for other uses. By reusing and repurposing these perfectly good used trucks and parts instead of exclusively manufacturing new ones, we minimise raw material use, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and significantly improve our carbon footprint; all without losing any quality in our final product.

In 2022 alone, Renault Trucks cut the CO₂ consumption of our repair network by over 1,900 tons thanks to our remanufactured parts.
